Plaka airbnb project, Athens Greece
Plaka is the old historical neighbourhood of Athens, clustered around the northern and eastern slopes of the Acropolis, and incorporating labyrinthine streets and neoclassical architecture. The project was the renovation of two separate and autonomus parts of a large house, in order to give a new contemporary look with a nostalgic feel. In this context, the existing elements and details of the house remained untouched, but twisted by colour patterns and contemporary light fixtures. An outdoor equipment was designed, reminiscent of fer forgé furniture. A kitchen was fitted inside an existing closet to accomodate everyday needs with a D.I.Y. faucet.
